Picture this: you're on the bus or tube, and you see someone being harassed. There are lots of people around, so you probably think someone will stop in to help. But everyone's thinking the same thing, and that's the problem.

This is called the bystander effect. It's a phenomenon where the more people who witness an emergency or crime, the less likely anyone is to speak up or help. Given a chance, we know that most people do want to assist. But we hold back because we don’t know what to do, or how to do it safely.

Funded by City Bridge Foundation, we've created bystander intervention training specifically for people living in and around London, so you can take action through safe and simple interventions.
